Here are a just few of the main types of bees:-

Honey bees

usually large and fluffy; these bees are mostly social and have a single queen, although some of them are solitary. They often nest under ground and feed on nectar during the warm months of the year.

These are 'social' bees.
Wild honey bees build their nests in trees, but the honey we eat comes from man-made bee hives.

Nomad bees

Mining bees

Their name tells you that they have their nest under the ground, where they lay their eggs.

These bees are often called 'cuckoo bees' and they lay their eggs in the nests of other species of bee.

Mason bees

These solitary bees build their nests in gaps in stones or in hollow twigs and wood..
They get their name because they use clay and mud to build their nest cells.
These are the bees that will come and nest in a 'bee hotel'.

They
